Ms. Wheeler has taught private voice at various schools in San Marcos, Texas and the DFW Metroplex. During the 2023-2024 school year,  Ms. Wheeler is teaching at the Middle School, High School, and community college level. Her middle school students work on music for Solo & Ensemble, All-Region contest, and Studio recitals. Her high school students prepare for the TMEA All-State Choir Audition Process, Solo & Ensemble contest, and Studio Recitals. No matter the experience level of the student, Ms. Wheeler teaches a technique of free phonation with an emphasis on mind, breath, and body connection that can be applied to any style, with expertise in classical performance. 

Music is ultimately a mode of communication and singer's are blessed with the opportunity to utilizing text as part of their musical language. Because of this, Ms. Wheeler emphasizes a text driven approach to learning repertoire as part of her studio. Rather than listening to a recording, picking out the notes and rhythm, then adding the text as an after thought, she encourages her students to begin with the text itself. By establishing an understanding of the meaning of the text from both a literal and character standpoint, Ms. Wheeler believes she alongside her students can not only learn music more efficiently but also find more personal and powerful moments of experession in performance.
